Phra Phuttha Chinnarat powder votives, hand-made by Luang Pho Chai at Wat Hua Wao, Singburi, in B.E. 2497 (1954) from his signature Itthije Maha Phut powder — over seventy years old. Three pieces from the same batch, each individually certified. USD $98 each.
1. What is a Phra Phuttha Chinnarat amulet?
Phra Phuttha Chinnarat is widely held to be the most beautiful Buddha image in Thailand — enthroned at Phitsanulok, ringed by a flame aureole, revered as the image of victory over obstacles. Thais pray before it for success in study, career and rank, and central-Thailand masters of the old generation loved to render it in pressed sacred powder. This batch is exactly that: the Chinnarat form, hand-pressed by Luang Pho Chai in his final years.

2. Who was Luang Pho Chai?
Born in 1882, Luang Pho Chai served as the third abbot of Wat Hua Wao on the Chao Phraya riverbank in Singburi — a temple long famous in local lore for its resident spirits. His renown came from turning that lore into practice: the Itthije Maha Phut formula gathered sacred materials from seven sources by ancient prescription, blended with ivory shavings, submerged fragrant woods and herbs, then ground, molded, inscribed and re-worked over years, with monastic chanting throughout. In 1954 he pressed this powder into several Buddha forms; he passed away peacefully in 1958 at 76.
3. Blessings
- Success: the Chinnarat vow — accomplishment in study, career and rank
- Protection: the old powder's guarding pedigree — danger turned aside
- Warding: Wat Hua Wao's specialty — evil and ill influence kept at bay
- Favor: the majestic image draws goodwill and helpful people
Note: amulets support mindful living; they are not a guarantee. Keeping the five precepts aligns the wearer with the blessing.
4. Craftsmanship
All three pieces show the grey-white Itthije powder body flecked with visible sacred material, mellowed by seventy years of natural aging: one large-mold Chinnarat with crisp flame-arch lines, one small-mold (พิมพ์เล็ก) ideal for daily wear, and one round-arch Phra Phut form. Offered bare; a waterproof case is recommended. Each piece matches its own certificate number for verification.
