What is a Phong Phrai Khun Paen (พระขุนแผนผงพราย)?
Phra Khun Paen (พระขุนแผน) is named after Khun Paen, the handsome, brave and much-loved general of Thai folk legend, which is why Khun Paen amulets are worn above all for charm, popularity and attraction. Phong Phrai (ผงพราย) is a traditional class of sacred powder prepared to old formulas from cemetery-related materials together with blessed powders, herbs and pollen, and is believed to be especially strong for attraction. Several masters of central Thailand are known for Phong Phrai Khun Paen.
According to the supplier, this piece was made by Luang Pho Kong, who made his first Phong Phrai Khun Paen in B.E. 2516, about 200 pieces, and in B.E. 2530 pressed a second batch from the remaining first-batch powder mixed with fragments of first-batch amulets. This piece is from that second batch.
