A Luk Om (ลูกอม, sacred ball amulet) by Ajarn Pong (พ่อป่อง น่วมมานา, Pho Pong Nuammana), made at Samnak Ban Mee Dee (สำนักบ้านมีดี), Bangkok, in B.E. 2562 (2019): sacred powder dotted with red, which the supplier describes as cinnabar. Ajarn Pong is a Thai lay master; according to the supplier he is known above all for protection from danger and for charm (metta) practices, inherited from his late father, a tattoo master. The Luk Om is a traditional round Thai amulet, small enough to hold in the hand or carry anywhere. Certified by the Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association, formal card No. KR00636 with a QR code. Mounted in a clear protective case. One piece only; it is held by a partner supplier, so please submit a request and we confirm availability by email within 24 hours.
What is the Ajarn Pong Luk Om (ลูกอมพ่อป่อง น่วมมานา)?
A Luk Om (ลูกอม) literally means "a ball to hold in the mouth". It is one of the oldest forms of Thai amulet: sacred powders and ashes rolled into a ball and blessed by a master. In the past, people would hold a Luk Om in the mouth in times of danger; today it is usually cased and worn, or carried in a pocket or bag.
This one is by Ajarn Pong (พ่อป่อง น่วมมานา, Pho Pong Nuammana). "Pho" (พ่อ) is the respectful Thai title for a lay master who practises outside the monkhood, which is why the supplier also calls him "Pho Pong". The association certificate records the source as "สำนักบ้านมีดี" (Samnak Ban Mee Dee) in Bangkok; a samnak is a lay master's practice house rather than a temple.

Who is Ajarn Pong?
According to the supplier: Ajarn Pong is the son of a renowned Thai tattoo and sak yant master whose fame peaked in the 1950s and who mastered many old texts, including Lao traditions, passing all of his knowledge on to his son. Ajarn Pong keeps a low profile, rarely allows photographs and rarely performs rituals or tattoos on request, yet his annual teacher-honouring ceremony draws hundreds of devotees from dawn to dusk. The supplier describes his protection practice as highly regarded in Thailand and his charm (เมตตามหานิยม) practice as equally well known. These biographical details and assessments come from the supplier and we have not independently verified them.
Blessings

Please note: an amulet supports your own efforts and intentions; it does not guarantee any outcome. Keeping the Five Precepts is traditionally encouraged.

Q: Is Ajarn Pong a monk?
A: No. He is a lay master who practises outside the monkhood; Thais address such masters as "Pho" or "Ajarn". His practice house is in Bangkok.
Q: How do I wear a Luk Om?
A: This one is already in a waterproof case, so it can go straight on a chain, or be carried in a pocket or bag. Powder dislikes long soaking, so please keep it in the case.
Q: Who is it suited to?
A: Frequent travellers and people in risky lines of work, anyone who wants to be at ease with people, and collectors of lay masters' amulets.
Q: Why do I request first and pay later?
A: This piece is held by a partner supplier rather than in our Bangkok stock. So that nobody pays for a piece that has already gone, we confirm with the supplier first and reply by email within 24 hours. If it is available, the email includes a payment link valid for 24 hours.
