A retro-edition Rian Sema coin of Luang Phor Tim Issariko (เหรียญเสมาหลวงปู่ทิม รุ่นย้อนยุค), issued in B.E. 2559 (2016) by his own temple, Wat Laharn Rai, Rayong — gold-plated with enamel and a solid silver mask (เนื้อกะไหล่ทองลงยา หน้ากากเงิน), in red, black and white enamel. The original Sema was struck for the master's 96th "8-rob" birthday in B.E. 2518; only 56 were made in gold, and those now reach seven-figure baht prices. Mounted in an Italian gold case, with Certificate of Authenticity CO07772 (GJ09-A2B8D). One piece only.
1. What is the Sema coin (Rian Sema / เหรียญเสมา)?
A "sema" is the leaf-shaped boundary stone that marks the sacred ordination hall of a Thai temple, and many revered monks issued coins in this shape. Luang Phor Tim's most famous is the "8 Rob" Sema of B.E. 2518, struck to celebrate his 96th birthday (eight twelve-year cycles) and raise funds to complete the temple's Bhavana Bhirat hall.
The original came in nine compositions — just 56 in gold, 169 in gold-silver, 897 in silver, and the rest mostly copper. Donation prices ranged from 30 to 3,000 baht; today gold pieces can reach seven figures, and enamelled silver pieces are prized by collectors.
In B.E. 2559, Wat Laharn Rai issued a retro edition of the design. This is the most lavish version: gold-plated with enamel, with the master's image applied as a separate solid silver mask for extra depth and shine.

2. Who was Luang Phor Tim?
Luang Phor Tim Issariko (หลวงปู่ทิม อิสริโก, 16 June 1879 – 16 October 1975) founded and led Wat Laharn Rai in Rayong. He lived to 96 with 69 years in robes, ate one meal a day, kept a vegetarian diet for nearly five decades, and held the title Phra Khru Bhavana Bhirat. His Khun Paen Phrai Kuman is known as the "King of Khun Paen," and his 8-rob Sema and Nang Phan coins are highly collectible.

4. Craftsmanship
The front shows Luang Phor Tim seated in meditation, rendered as a solid silver mask with crisp facial and robe detail, set on black enamel framed by red flame-pattern enamel, a white enamel cloud with sacred script at the top and a gilt lotus base below. The back carries his classic yantra and dedication inscription, an individual serial number, and the date B.E. ๒๕๕๙. Mounted in a fully engraved Italian gold case with bail — ready to wear.
5. FAQ
Q: Was this blessed by Luang Phor Tim himself?
A: No. He passed away in 1975. This is his temple's 2016 retro edition of the original design. Originals are very expensive and widely faked; a certified retro from the temple is the safer way to own this coin.
Q: What does "gold-plated enamel with silver mask" mean?
A: The coin body is gold-plated and enamelled (long ya), and the master's image is a separate solid silver mask applied on top — more steps and higher cost, making it the most lavish version of the batch.
Q: How do I verify the certificate?
A: Scan the QR code on the card. Card no. GJ09-A2B8D, issued 22 September B.E. 2569, signed by the association's president and vice-president.
Q: Will the enamel fade?
A: It is sealed in a waterproof case that protects both the enamel and silver mask, so it's safe for daily wear.
Q: Who is it for?
A: Managers, business owners, anyone seeking career advancement, and Luang Phor Tim collectors.
