What is the Luang Pho Sakorn B.E. 2552 Phra Somdej Lang Yant Ha (พระสมเด็จหลังยันต์ห้า หลวงพ่อสาคร ๒๕๕๒)?
Phra Somdej (พระสมเด็จ) is the classic rectangular Thai amulet: the Buddha seated on a tiered base beneath an arch. "หลังยันต์ห้า" means "Yant Ha back"; the Yant Ha (ยันต์ห้า) is a yantra of five linked loops symbolising the protection of the Buddhas of the five directions, widely used in Thailand for protection and popularity.
This piece was made by Luang Pho Sakorn Manunyo (หลวงพ่อสาคร มนุญโญ) of Wat Nong Krub (วัดหนองกรับ), Rayong, in B.E. 2552, in sacred powder. The supplier calls it his "supreme popularity" Somdej.

Who is Luang Pho Sakorn?
Luang Pho Sakorn of Wat Nong Krub in Rayong is closely connected with Luang Pho Tim (หลวงพ่อทิม) of nearby Wat Lahan Rai and is regarded as carrying on his lineage. According to the supplier, he had already studied magic before ordaining, was ordained under Luang Pho Tim in B.E. 2501, and went on to study scripture and lore with many other masters, travelling as far as Myanmar. His Khun Paen, Somdej and Pidta amulets are all popular with Thai devotees.

Note: an amulet supports practice and intention; it does not guarantee any outcome. Keeping the Five Precepts is traditionally recommended.
Craftsmanship
A rectangular powder Somdej with a pale grey surface. The Buddha sits in meditation on a seven-tier base beneath an arch, in simple clean lines. The back is centred on the Yant Ha, five linked loops filled and surrounded with Khmer characters, above a line of Thai reading "หลวงพ่อสาคร". Two small dark spots are visible on the back, common in powder amulets as inclusions or natural marks; please judge from the photos. Mounted in a silver-tone metal frame with red backing and a hanging loop.
