What is the Luang Pho Yit first-batch Thao Wessuwan medal (Rian Thao Wessuwan Luang Pho Yit Run Raek)?
Thao Wessuwan (ท้าวเวสสุวรรณ, Vessavana) is the guardian king of the north among Buddhism's Four Heavenly Kings, ruler of the yakshas and a lord of wealth. In Thailand his giant statues guard temple gates, and people turn to him to protect the home against harm and to gather and keep wealth. Chinese-speaking collectors call him the "Ghost King".
Luang Pho Yit (หลวงพ่ออิฐ) of Wat Chulamani (วัดจุฬามณี), Samut Songkhram, is renowned for his Thao Wessuwan amulets. This is his first batch (รุ่นแรก), issued in B.E. 2545, in the large "champee" mold (พิมพ์จำปีใหญ่). A champee is a flower bud, and the name describes the outline: rounded at the top and pointed at the base, like a bud or a temple bell. According to the supplier, the batch is nicknamed "Billionaire" among Chinese-speaking collectors.

Who is Luang Pho Yit?
Luang Pho Yit is the abbot of Wat Chulamani in Samut Songkhram, known across Thailand for his Thao Wessuwan, Brahma and Ganesha amulets. According to the supplier, before ordaining he studied Thai folk magic and old Brahmin lore, and learned Taoist Maoshan practice from the local Chinese community, then trained under several renowned masters after ordination; his amulets therefore blend Theravada practice with folk traditions, and he is often invited to bless at major Thai ceremonies.

Please note: an amulet supports your own efforts and intentions; it does not guarantee any outcome. Keeping the Five Precepts is traditionally encouraged.
Craftsmanship
A red copper medal, rounded at the top and pointed at the base like a bud or bell, with a jump ring. On the front Thao Wessuwan wears a spired crown, with fangs and glaring eyes, clad in armour, both hands resting on a long twisted club as he sits on a pedestal flanked by flame motifs. The pedestal is inscribed "ท้าวเวสสุวรรณ", with a small Thai character below. The back carries "วัดจุฬามณี" at the top, a heart-shaped yantra with a stupa at the centre ringed by incantations, and "สมุทรสงคราม ๔๕" (๔๕ for B.E. 2545) at the base. The copper has a natural deep brown oxidation.
FAQ
Q: How do I know it is the first batch?
A: The Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association formal certificate reads "เหรียญท้าวเวสสุวรรณหลวงพ่ออิฐ รุ่นแรก พิมพ์จำปีใหญ่ เนื้อทองแดง พ.ศ. 2545": Luang Pho Yit's Thao Wessuwan medal, first batch, large champee mold, red copper, B.E. 2545, temple "วัดจุฬามณี", province "สมุทรสงคราม", No. KR06987. The QR code can be checked on the association's system.
Q: Are the Ghost King and Thao Wessuwan the same?
A: Yes. "ท้าวเวสสุวรรณ" is Vessavana, guardian of the north among the Four Heavenly Kings. Because he rules the yakshas and spirits, Chinese-speaking collectors call him the "Ghost King".
Q: What does "Billionaire" mean?
A: It is the supplier's nickname for this batch, referring to Thao Wessuwan's role in gathering and keeping wealth. The certificate's formal name is "รุ่นแรก พิมพ์จำปีใหญ่".
Q: Who is it suited to?
A: People in business, anyone who wants to hold on to their wealth, those wishing for a safe home, and collectors of Luang Pho Yit's Thao Wessuwan. A case is recommended for daily wear; do not clean the copper with detergents.
