Yi Ko Hong octagonal wealth coin blessed by Luang Pu Maha Sila, made at Wat Pho Si Sa-at, Kalasin, in B.E. 2564 (2021), in copper. Yi Ko Hong (ยี่กอฮง) was one of Thailand's most famous Chinese-Thai tycoons and is still seen as a symbol of fortune. The batch is called "ขุมทรัพย์เศรษฐี" (the Millionaire's Treasure). Certified by the Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association, formal card No. KR04617 with a QR code. Mounted in a gold-tone case set with clear stones, ready to wear. One piece only; it is held by a partner supplier, so please submit a request and we confirm availability by email within 24 hours.
What is the Luang Pu Maha Sila Yi Ko Hong octagonal coin (Rian Yi Ko Hong Luang Pu Sila, Run Khum Sap Setthi)?
Yi Ko Hong (ยี่กอฮง), whose Chinese name was Zheng Zhiyong, was one of the most famous Chinese-Thai tycoons in Thai history. He built a great fortune from nothing and was known for his generosity, and Thais still treat him as a symbol of wealth and luck; amulets bearing his image are common in Thailand.
This coin was blessed by Luang Pu Maha Sila (หลวงปู่มหาศิลา, written หลวงปู่ศิลา on the certificate) of Kalasin. The batch is called "ขุมทรัพย์เศรษฐี", the Millionaire's Treasure. The coin is octagonal with a bagua at the centre of the back; according to the supplier, the eight sides echo the eight trigrams. The supplier also says this was the first time the master used Chinese characters on an amulet, which we have not been able to verify.

Who is Luang Pu Maha Sila?
Luang Pu Maha Sila is a senior monk of Kalasin Province, highly respected across Isan, Thailand's northeast. "Phra Maha" is the title earned by passing the Pali examinations, a sign of his scriptural learning. According to the supplier, he seldom issues amulets, usually only when the temple needs funds for building work, and new batches tend to be fully reserved soon after they open.

Craftsmanship
An octagonal copper coin with a Greek-key border. The front shows Yi Ko Hong in a skullcap and Qing-style robe, with Chinese auspicious characters on either side and his Thai name below. On the back, Chinese characters run across the top; the centre holds a bagua above a column of yantra script; the left side reads "โชคดี มั่งคั่ง มั่งมี รุ่งเรือง" (good luck, prosperity, abundance, success) and the right "ร่ำรวย เงินทอง ไหลมาเทมา" (riches, money flowing in) with "ปู่ศิลา"; along the bottom runs "ขุมทรัพย์เศรษฐี ๒๕๖๔", and the serial "๙๗๗๘" is stamped at lower left. The copper has an iridescent bronze tone. It is mounted in a gold-tone case with a ring of clear stones on the front, an engraved gold back and a bail.
FAQ
Q: Is the portrait Luang Pu Maha Sila himself?
A: No. The portrait is Yi Ko Hong (ยี่กอฮง); Luang Pu Maha Sila blessed the coin. The Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association formal certificate reads "เหรียญยี่กอฮงหลวงปู่ศิลา รุ่นขุมทรัพย์เศรษฐี เนื้อทองแดง พ.ศ. 2564": Luang Pu Sila's Yi Ko Hong coin, Millionaire's Treasure batch, copper, B.E. 2564, from วัดโพธิ์ศรีสะอาด (สำนักสงฆ์แกะแปะ), Kalasin, No. KR04617.
Q: What is the "๙๗๗๘" on the back?
A: It is this coin's own serial number (9778 in Thai numerals), stamped piece by piece when the temple issued the batch.
Q: How is it different from the other B.E. 2564 Luang Pu Maha Sila coin in the shop?
A: That one is the diamond-shaped Maha Heng (รุ่นมหาเฮง) portrait coin showing the master himself. This is the octagonal Millionaire's Treasure batch with Yi Ko Hong on the front and a bagua on the back: a different batch altogether.
Q: Can I wear a copper coin every day?
A: Yes, it is cased. Avoid knocks against hard objects and do not clean it with chemical cleaners.
Q: Why do I request first and pay later?
A: This piece is held by a partner supplier rather than in our Bangkok stock. So that nobody pays for a piece that has already gone, we confirm with the supplier first and reply by email within 24 hours. If it is available, the email includes a payment link valid for 24 hours. Submitting a request costs nothing.
