What is the Luang Pho Sothon Phra Kring, Ubosot-building batch (พระกริ่งหลวงพ่อโสธร รุ่นสร้างอุโบสถ)?
Luang Pho Sothon (หลวงพ่อโสธร) is not a monk but a seated meditation Buddha image enshrined at Wat Sothon Wararam Worawihan (วัดโสธรวรารามวรวิหาร) in Chachoengsao (ฉะเชิงเทรา), one of the most revered Buddha images in Thailand; "Luang Pho" is the title of respect devotees give it. Over the years the temple has issued sacred objects modelled on the image to fund its work.
Phra Kring (พระกริ่ง) and Phra Chaiwat (พระชัยวัฒน์) are a family of small cast Buddha figures; the association files this piece under "พระกริ่ง - พระชัยวัฒน์". In Thai tradition the Phra Kring is associated with the Medicine Buddha, which is why the supplier also calls it a Medicine Buddha. "รุ่นสร้างอุโบสถ" means the batch issued to build a new ordination hall (ubosot).

Luang Pho Sothon and Wat Sothon
Wat Sothon stands on the Bang Pakong River in Chachoengsao. Its Luang Pho Sothon image is among the places Thais most often go to make a wish, and the temple is busy every day with people offering incense, flowers and thanks for wishes granted. Donations from devotees built the temple's vast new ordination hall, and this batch was made for that project. According to the supplier, the consecration was a large ceremony attended by a number of well-known monks.

Craftsmanship
The Buddha sits in meditation with a pointed ushnisha and clearly defined robe lines, on a multi-tiered lotus base with a lattice-patterned cloth hanging at the front. From the back you can see the folds of the robe and a Dhamma wheel on the rear of the base. The gold has a fine satin finish and the figure is compact enough for everyday wear. The front of the frame and the bail are set with clear stones; the back of the frame is engraved gold.
