Luang Phor Pae Phra Somdej with his portrait on the back (พระพิมพ์สมเด็จหลังรูปเหมือน หลวงพ่อแพ), made at Wat Pikulthong, Sing Buri, in B.E. 2541 (1998), in sacred powder (เนื้อผง). It comes from the year before his death: the front shows the Buddha seated under the arch on a tiered base, and the back shows Luang Phor Pae himself in an oval frame, so one amulet carries both the Buddha and the master. Collectors of his Somdej prize this back-portrait format. The powder is clean and white, with intact edges. Comes with a Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association formal certificate, No. P06082, with a QR code for verification. One piece only. It is held by a partner supplier, so please submit a request and we confirm availability by email within 24 hours.
What is the Luang Phor Pae B.E. 2541 back-portrait Somdej?
The Phra Somdej (พระสมเด็จ) is Thailand's classic amulet form: a rectangular powder tablet with the Buddha seated on a tiered base under an arch. "Lang roop muean" (หลังรูปเหมือน) means the back carries the master's portrait, here Luang Phor Pae Khemangkaro (หลวงพ่อแพ เขมงฺกโร), abbot of Wat Pikulthong (วัดพิกุลทอง) in Sing Buri, regarded by Thai collectors as one of the great modern Somdej masters. For his life and his main Somdej batches, see our guide to Luang Phor Pae.
This piece was made in B.E. 2541. Luang Phor Pae died in B.E. 2542, so it is one of the works from his last years. According to the supplier, he blessed this batch himself.
