What is the Than Chao Khun Wara solid gold Garuda (Khrut Than Chao Khun Wara, Maha Setthi batch)?
Garuda (ครุฑ, pronounced Khrut in Thai) is the king of birds in Hindu myth and the mount of Vishnu. In Thailand, Garuda is the emblem of the state and the monarchy: it heads government documents and appears on Thai banknotes. Garuda amulets are therefore worn above all for authority, leadership, support from superiors and protection.
This piece was made by Than Chao Khun Wara (ท่านเจ้าคุณวราห์), known to Chinese-speaking collectors as Luang Pho Wara. The association certificate records the temple as Wat Pho Thong (วัดโพธิ์ทอง), Bangkok, the batch as "รุ่นมหาเศรษฐี เฮงๆ รวยๆ" (Maha Setthi, Heng Heng Ruay Ruay: great millionaire, prosperous and rich), the year as B.E. 2563 and the material as gold (เนื้อทองคำ). According to the supplier, this is the small size.

Garuda in Thailand
Garuda is Thailand's national emblem, and the Royal Warrant granted to trusted companies also bears the Garuda. For Thais it is bound up with authority, legitimacy and official trust, which is why civil servants, managers and business owners favour it. This batch pairs the Garuda with a portrait of King Rama V on the reverse: King Chulalongkorn is one of Thailand's most revered monarchs, and his image is widely honoured for career success and support from superiors.
Blessings
- Authority and leadership: for managing, leading a team and being taken seriously
- Career and helpful people: support from superiors, promotion and official matters
- Protection: traditionally worn against gossip, ill will and legal trouble
- Wealth: support for earned income and business
Please note: an amulet supports your own efforts and intentions; it does not guarantee any outcome. Keeping the Five Precepts is traditionally encouraged.
Craftsmanship
The Garuda is cut out in openwork with wings spread and a pointed crown, its gold body accented with red enamel on the chest. The reverse carries a side portrait of King Rama V above "ร.๕", with fine inscriptions to either side. The heart-shaped frame is decorated on the front with scrolling red, blue, green and white enamel and Thai lettering, with "อ.วราห์" at the base; the sides and back of the frame are hand-engraved, with a bail at the top and a clear protective layer in the middle.
FAQ
Q: How do I know it is gold?
A: The Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association formal certificate reads "ครุฑท่านเจ้าคุณวราห์ รุ่นมหาเศรษฐี เฮงๆ รวยๆ เนื้อทองคำ พ.ศ. 2563": Than Chao Khun Wara Garuda, Maha Setthi batch, gold, B.E. 2563, from วัดโพธิ์ทอง (Bangkok), barcode GJ10-6F17B. The certificate does not state the material of the frame; the solid gold case is the supplier's description.
Q: Who is on the back?
A: King Rama V (King Chulalongkorn the Great). "ร.๕" beneath the portrait is the Thai abbreviation for "the Fifth Reign".
Q: Who is a Garuda suited to?
A: Civil servants, managers and team leaders, anyone who needs backing from superiors and wants their word to carry weight, and collectors of Garuda amulets.
Q: Can I wear it every day?
A: Yes. Gold does not tarnish, and the piece is already framed and ready to hang on a chain.
Q: Why do I request first and pay later?

So that nobody pays for a piece that has already gone, we confirm with the supplier first and reply by email within 24 hours. If it is available, the email includes a payment link valid for 24 hours.
