Luang Phor Khun B.E. 2517 (1974) oval portrait coin from Wat Ban Rai, Nakhon Ratchasima, in copper. Thais call Luang Phor Khun the "living god of wealth". The back of this batch is dated "๔ ต.ค. ๒๕๑๗", 4 October B.E. 2517, his birthday, and the supplier lists it among his three great early portrait coins. The supplier lists the mold as the "five-crack" variant. The portrait is crisp, the inscriptions "หลวงพ่อคูณ ปริสุทฺโธ" and "วัดบ้านไร่ อ.ด่านขุนทด นครราชสีมา" are complete, the yantra on the back is sharp, and the fifty-year-old copper has a natural patina. One piece only; it is held by a partner supplier, so please submit a request and we confirm availability by email within 24 hours.
What is the Luang Phor Khun B.E. 2517 portrait coin (Rian Luang Phor Khun 2517)?
Luang Phor Khun Parisuttho (หลวงพ่อคูณ ปริสุทฺโธ) of Wat Ban Rai (วัดบ้านไร่), Nakhon Ratchasima, is revered in Thailand as the "living god of wealth". A "portrait" amulet shows the master himself, and a "rian" (เหรียญ) is a struck metal coin.
Luang Phor Khun issued huge numbers of amulets later in life, so serious collectors focus on his early pieces. This B.E. 2517 batch is dated on the back with his birthday, "๔ ต.ค. ๒๕๑๗" (4 October), and is listed by the supplier among his three great early portrait coins. Within a batch collectors separate molds by casting details; the supplier lists this one as the "five-crack" mold.

Craftsmanship
An oval copper coin with a hanging loop. The front shows Luang Phor Khun's half-length portrait, with "หลวงพ่อคูณ ปริสุทฺโธ" along the top edge, "วัดบ้านไร่ อ.ด่านขุนทด นครราชสีมา" along the bottom and the Thai numeral "๑" below the portrait. The back has the temple emblem at the top, an eight-segment yantra (ยันต์) with Thai numerals and script at the centre, and "๔ ต.ค. ๒๕๑๗" along the lower edge. Fifty years of oxidation have given the copper a deep brown to purple-brown tone, with crisp lettering.
FAQ
Q: Luang Phor Khun made so many amulets. Why is the 2517 batch worth more?
A: His later issues were produced in very large numbers, while early pieces are older and far scarcer. The 2517 batch, dated with his birthday, is listed by the supplier as one of his three great early portrait coins.
Q: What is the yellow card in the photos, and which card do I receive?
A: The yellow card is the Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association's authentication receipt, issued on the spot once a piece is judged genuine; the formal certificate is collected on the Thursday of the following week. This piece's yellow card is No. 08286, amulet name "ล.พ.คูณ" (Luang Phor Khun), marked "แท้" (genuine), with the "มีซ่อม" (repaired) box left blank, dated 25 August B.E. 2569 (2026). The buyer receives the association's formal certificate.
Q: Can I wear a copper coin every day?
A: Yes. A case is recommended to avoid scratches. Do not scrub it with cleaners; the old patina is part of its proof of age.
Q: Who is it suited to?
A: Business owners, anyone working toward steady career growth, frequent travellers, and collectors of early Luang Phor Khun pieces.
Q: Why do I request first and pay later?
A: This piece is held by a partner supplier rather than in our Bangkok stock. So that nobody pays for a piece that has already gone, we confirm with the supplier first and reply by email within 24 hours. If it is available, the email includes a payment link valid for 24 hours. Submitting a request costs nothing.
