What is the Luang Phor Ruay sema portrait amulet (เหรียญเสมาหลวงพ่อรวย พ.ศ. 2559)?
The sema (เสมา) is the shape of a Thai temple boundary stone, broad at the shoulders and tapering below, and one of the classic outlines for Thai portrait coins. This one was issued in B.E. 2559 by Luang Phor Ruay Pasadiko (หลวงพ่อรวย ปาสาทิโก) of Wat Tako (วัดตะโก), Ayutthaya, with the master seated on the front framed by naga scrolls and an inscribed border.
Luang Phor Ruay passed away in B.E. 2560 (2017); this coin dates from B.E. 2559, so it was made and blessed during his lifetime. The association certificate records the material as lead (เนื้อตะกั่ว, Nuea Takua).
