Wat Rakang 100th Anniversary Somdej, made in B.E. 2515 (1972) to mark one hundred years since the passing of Somdej Toh (สมเด็จโต), and one of the most widely recognised Somdej batches from Wat Rakang, Bangkok. This piece is the Khai Pla mold (พิมพ์ไข่ปลาเลือน) in sacred powder; half a century has given the surface a natural cream tone with fine crazing, and the Buddha and three-tier base are clearly defined. According to the supplier, the powder includes fragments of old Somdej Toh amulets and old plaster scraped from the walls of the Wat Rakang ordination hall during renovation, and many leading monks of the day took part in the blessing. Certified by the Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association, formal card No. P01992 with a QR code. One piece only; it is held by a partner supplier, so please submit a request and we confirm availability by email within 24 hours.
What is the Wat Rakang B.E. 2515 100th Anniversary Somdej (Phra Somdej Wat Rakang Run Anusorn 100 Pi)?
Phra Somdej (พระสมเด็จ) is Thailand's most iconic amulet: a rectangular plaque showing the Buddha seated beneath an arch on a three-tier base, known in Thailand as the "king of amulets". It traces back to Somdej Toh (สมเด็จพระพุฒาจารย์ โต พรหมรังสี) of Wat Rakang Khositaram (วัดระฆังโฆสิตาราม), Bangkok.
Somdej Toh passed away in B.E. 2415 (1872). In B.E. 2515 Wat Rakang issued this "รุ่นอนุสรณ์ 100 ปี" (100th anniversary memorial) batch to mark a century since his passing, and it is one of the mainstream Wat Rakang Somdej batches in Thailand. Molds within the batch are told apart by detail; this one is the Khai Pla mold (พิมพ์ไข่ปลาเลือน).

Somdej Toh and Wat Rakang
Somdej Toh (1788–1872) was a leading monk of the early Rattanakosin era, based at Wat Rakang and revered by Kings Rama IV and Rama V. The Somdej amulets he made are honoured as the "king of amulets" and head Thailand's Benjapakee, the five great amulets. Later Wat Rakang memorial batches all follow his Somdej design, and the 100th anniversary batch is one of the earliest and most widely recognised of them.
Blessings
- All-round protection: Somdej is regarded as the most complete amulet, for safety and smooth progress
- Goodwill and helpful people: at work and in relationships
- Career and wealth: steady progress
- Calm: a Buddha image to steady the mind
Please note: an amulet supports your own efforts and intentions; it does not guarantee any outcome. Keeping the Five Precepts is traditionally encouraged.

FAQ
Q: How do I know it is the B.E. 2515 100th anniversary batch?
A: The Thai Buddha Image Admiration Association formal certificate reads "พระสมเด็จวัดระฆัง รุ่นอนุสรณ์ 100 ปี พิมพ์ไข่ปลาเลือน เนื้อผง พ.ศ. 2515", temple "วัดระฆังโฆสิตาราม", No. P01992.
Q: Was this made by Somdej Toh himself?
A: No. Somdej Toh passed away in 1872; this batch was made by Wat Rakang a hundred years later in his memory. According to the supplier, fragments of his old Somdej amulets were blended into the powder.
Q: How should I wear a powder Somdej?
A: Put it in a waterproof case first. Powder dislikes long soaking, so take it off for bathing or swimming, and never scrub the old surface.
Q: Who is it suited to?
A: Anyone looking for safety and steady progress, those who rely on goodwill and helpful people, and collectors of Wat Rakang Somdej.
Q: Why do I request first and pay later?
A: This piece is held by a partner supplier rather than in our Bangkok stock. So that nobody pays for a piece that has already gone, we confirm with the supplier first and reply by email within 24 hours. If it is available, the email includes a payment link valid for 24 hours. Submitting a request costs nothing.
